Rv Water Heater Pop Off Valve Leaking
If a pressure relief valve for a boiler is accidentally installed on a water heater it will leak like crazy from the start.
Rv water heater pop off valve leaking. Close the cold water cut off valve going into the water heater. Following their advice i turned off the water pump opened the the pop off valve and ran a inside faucet to create a air pocket. The camco 1 2 inch temperature and pressure relief valve with 4 inch probe protects the rv water heater from excessive temperature and water pressure with corrosion resistant metal. That doesn t make sense to me.
Remove the overflow pipe from the pressure relief valve. If the valve has a leak we can replace it with a new relief valve a very common water heater repair. The leak stopped for awhile and is now back. First turn off the gas to the water heater or flip the breaker if it s electric.
Open the valve at the bottom and the pressure relief valve for a minute to drain a little water out of the tank and relieve the pressure. Winnebago customer support suggested the same thing. These valves may look identical but they re set to go off at 30 psi. Help me understand the concept.
The water will leak out but not air. Thanks for the replies.
